BearNPC Productions/Crestfallen LARP Financials 2023
I am very happy with how Crestfallen has developed over the last year. However, all businesses have costs and I have taken a number of them upon myself this year to make sure that Crestfallen has every chance to succeed. I have personally purchased and maintained ownership of a number of props and items used for running Crestfallen LARP, but hope to reduce the amount of personal expenses that go into the game as it grows.
Below are a few of the items that I have paid for personally and amounts. I will not be asking for reimbursement of these funds, but wish to make the most notable ones public for accountability sake.

Some of these items were not vital to the games exist, but I felt they were important in some way to the way I wanted the game portrayed. Additionally, most of staff have bought items for the game out of pocket because they were important to them such as stickers, coasters, portals, costuming and more. We do this because we love the game and are not gaining extra points in the game due to this. We want to get Crestfallen to a point where it can support itself and hope with these items already in place, it will cause less strain on the game moving forward.

Final Review
This left us with about $520 available for the 2024 season before the Tavern Event. We are working with a wonderful campsite that has brokered a very reasonable deal with us regarding site fees, so we do not have to pay any deposit up front for our sites. Additionally, our insurance is enforced until 5/20/2024 (through our first two events of the season). With our current stock of materials and personal items, Crestfallen should not have any sizeable purchases to make during this next year except the insurance renewal and site costs. Given this, we are well on our way to have a profitable and successful season this year.
We would love to see Crestfallen grow, be able supply updated and free rulebooks to the community, as well as other great memorabilia over the course of the year. To do this, we need to reach more members that are willing to be players, actors, and authors. Our game is focused on principle. We don’t have a pay to win shop. We won’t charge you a fee for your character sheet. We won’t charge you an insurance fee. We don’t owe any organization rules rights or fees. We don’t have a board of directors or national owner to bog down growth, limit our scope, or enforce bad policy that hurts the integrity of the game. The only people we are beholden to are the players that we care for and the game we are moving forward.
If these types of things are important, share our info with your friends and fellow gamers. We have costumes to borrow, public time to help people get used to the game before hand, and the drive to make this the most welcoming and understanding game around.
